Exercise and your skin
/Need another reason to stick to your New Year’s resolution to exercise more?
Here’s a good one. Regular exercise is another way to have a healthy, youthful looking complexion.
Along with keeping your heart and lungs healthy, exercise improves your circulation. Anything that promotes better blood circulation also helps to keep skin looking vibrant and healthy.
Increased blood flow helps to nourish skin cells and keep them vital. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the cells throughout your body, including your skin. Blood flow also helps carry away waste products, including free radicals, which damage your skin. Exercise assists with flushing cellular debris out of the system. Think of it as cleaning your skin from the inside.
If you have skin conditions such as acne, rosacea or psoarias, you may need to protect your skin while exercising.
Be good to your skin and the rest of your body – get moving!
